- Salary: EUR 3 446.05 gross monthly, plus benefits (including: flexible working hours, presence in the Brussels office with some teleworking from Belgium possible, additional leave days for family care, transport to the office covered in Belgium, complementary pension support, 13th month and holiday allowance, lunch vouchers, training budget)
About the role
The EDRi Office works with EDRi members and partners to lead, coordinate or join pan-European campaigns . The role of EDRi campaigns is to pressure private companies and EU decision-makers and increase public awareness of how technology impacts our lives and democratic systems, and how it is deployed against groups at the margins and human rights defenders. The Campaigns Officer is responsible for implementing campaigns strategies in line with the EDRi network multi-annual strategy, specific campaigns strategies and yearly work plans.
The new colleague will coordinate weekly meetings/calls of the campaign core groups of members and partners, and work alongside team members to identify new campaign coalition members. Moreover, the role focuses on the coordination and delivery of online and in-person mobilising activities and campaign actions.
We are looking for an individual that will bring strong organisational, facilitation and project management skills, experience in event management and/or project implementation with multiple stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Campaign coalition and membership management
- Coordinate campaign weekly calls with EDRi members
- Coordinate campaign monthly calls with non-EDRi members
- Support the coordination of EDRi network coalition meetings in Brussels (3 – 4 / year)Disseminate information to existing coalition partners
- Onboard new organisations in EDRi campaign coalitions
- Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships
- Compile reports of campaign coalition building
Campaign Actions and Events
- Organise public-oriented events in Brussels and online as per agreed campaign strategy
- Coordinate digital and in-person campaign actions as per agreed campaign strategy
- Compile reports of campaign actions / events
Outreach to prospect campaign partners
- Outreach to potential campaign partners as per agreed campaign strategy
- Research, build and manage relationship with content creators
- Coordinate with other campaign stakeholders towards shared goals
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Organisational skills and project management skills

- Strong written and spoken English skills
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- One to three years of relevant experience in a similar role either in professional context or in a volunteering context;
- Interest in campaigning about human rights, in particular privacy, surveillance and law enforcement, freedom of expression, as well as other digital rights issues;
- Experience taking part in movements for social change, including working with activists and volunteers;
- Experience in event management or online action coordination;
- Experience in working with networks, as well as in small teams;
- Excellent level of English;
- Knowledge of another European language is an advantage;
- Knowledge of database management systems, mailing list and free and open software is an advantage.
