About Open Rights Group

ORG is the UK’s premier data and digital rights campaigning organisation. Founded in 2005, they have over 20,000 members and supporters and 10 local groups across the UK. Their remote team is spread across the UK with a small office in Scotland.

ORG upholds human rights like free expression and privacy. They condemn and work against repressive laws or systems that deny people these rights.

About role

ORG’s Advisory Council is an important part of the ORG ecosystem. It’s made up of volunteers who give advice and support, to help us further our areas of strategic focus.

Unlike our Board of Directors, Advisory Board members do not have voting power, nor do they have fiduciary responsibility.

Advisory Council members need to commit to three meetings a year, as well as make themselves available for occasional, ad hoc queries from ORG staff in a more informal manner.

Please send applications to  by the end of the day on Monday 11 July 2022. We’ll hold interviews in July.

We hope to hear from you! If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Also – if you know someone who would be a great fit for the role – please either share this with them, or email us their details and we will get in touch with them directly.
