Advocacy Officer
The Advocacy Officer will conduct advocacy to achieve PI’s goals. This will include policy, research, outreach and public engagement initiatives in order to formulate new and creative ways to demand change globally, including working with our partners across the world.

Experiences
- degree in law, international relations, or other relevant domain or 3 years experience developing and conducting advocacy in a domain directly related to PI’s strategy.
- record of strong commitment to and experience in human rights advocacy.
- record of stakeholder engagement, promoting or enabling meaningful participation of communities and civil society in advocacy.
- experience in engaging state actors, non-state actors and/or inter-governmental institutions.
- experience in implementing research strategies in order to develop and present recommendations and demands through strategic advocacy.
Skills
- fluency in a language other than English, with one of the other five UN languages (Spanish, French, Russian, Arabic or Chinese) an asset.
- proactive and self-motivated, capable of working unsupervised and taking responsibility for managing relationships with key partners, stakeholders, and adversaries.
- capable of managing and delivering projects, working collaboratively through delegation and coordination, and incorporating critical reflections into future planning.
- thoughtful interpersonal skills for engaging with colleagues and stakeholders from experientially, demographically, cognitively, and culturally diverse backgrounds.

Consultancies on legal and regulatory regimes governing big tech companies
Consultant Requirements
- The consultant will have extensive experience in legal and policy research. They will have a background in law, policy and technology, as well as a demonstrable ability to collect, interpret, and summarize policy from a wide variety of resources.
- The consultant will be expected to be able to analyse laws, decisions etc in the official languages of the country concerned.
- The consultant shall ensure that only clearly lawful methods of research are used.
- The consultant shall provide documentation and/or references to support analyses which can be verified by PI.
- The consultant shall ensure that any information obtained from fee-based online databases is done so in line with the database’s terms of service.
Timeline and Remuneration
The analysis under section ‘Scope and Outputs’ above should be delivered no later than 31 December 2023.
All the data and evidence mentioned in the briefings should be free to publicly use without constraints.
Each consultancy is expected to last a maximum total of 20 days. Remuneration is £250 per day, and the total fee to be awarded for each consultancy shall not exceed £5,000.
