About EDRi
European Digital Rights (EDRi) is an international not-for-profit association of 50+ digital rights
organisations from across Europe and beyond.
We envision a world in which people live with dignity and vitality in the digital age. Our aim is to create a fair and open digital environment that enables everyone to flourish and thrive to their fullest potential.
We advocate for robust and enforced laws, inform and mobilise people, promote a healthy and accountable technology market and build a movement of organisations and individuals committed to digital rights and freedoms in a connected world.
In 2021 EDRi members adopted a Complaint Mechanism to handle potential conflicts and complaints, encompassing transgressive behavior happening within the sphere of EDRi’s operations, whether by members of the EDRi office staff, volunteers, the board or members.
The Complaint Mechanism rests on two independent bodies, namely the Confidential Advisor (CA) and the Complaints Committee (CC).
Following on from the inaugural CA and CC having completed their 3-year mandate, as well as an internal evaluation and revamped version of the mechanism adopted in 2025, EDRi is now looking to recruit at least 5 qualified professionals in the field of dispute resolution, human resources, and NGO governance to join these bodies for the CA and CC, respectively.
The Complaint Committee functions as a 3-person collegial committee, whilst Confidential Advisors work autonomously, based on their availability and expertise.
The appointed professionals should not be affiliated with any member organisation nor the Board of EDRi.
