Human Rights Watch is hiring a Director of Media to lead the organisation’s global media strategy and shape its public voice across traditional and emerging platforms.
Reporting to the Global Communications Director, the Media Director will set the editorial vision for HRW’s media engagement, manage a globally distributed team across the US, Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa, and translate HRW’s strategy into clear media priorities.
Responsibilities include overseeing media products, leading crisis communications, building relationships with senior journalists and editors, directing budget planning, and driving a data-informed approach to outreach. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, at least 5 in team management, and valid US work authorization. Proficiency in French or Arabic is desirable.
