2nd European Congress on Disinformation and Fact-Checking – DisinfoCongress 2025
Organised by UC3M MediaLab, the DisinfoCongress 2025 brings together researchers, journalists, policymakers and civil society to discuss emerging threats and solutions in the global information ecosystem. This hybrid event will focus on topics such as artificial intelligence, fact-checking, civic resilience, elections, crisis communication and media literacy. The congress promotes cross-border dialogue and knowledge sharing to strengthen the fight against disinformation in Europe and beyond
2nd European Congress on Disinformation and Fact-Checking – DisinfoCongress 2025
The 2025 edition of the European Congress on Disinformation and Fact-Checking will take place across two days under the theme Beyond 2025: Emerging threats and solutions in the global information ecosystem. The first day will be fully online, while the second offers a hybrid experience hosted on-site in Madrid. Participants will explore the role of AI in disinformation, media trust, fact-checking innovation, and the intersection between civic engagement and information security.
Open to journalists, academics, students, and policy professionals, the Congress includes keynote speeches, panels, and a call for abstracts. Selected presenters will have the opportunity to publish their work as a book chapter. Topics include elections, public health, crisis communication, and regulation of online platforms.
The event is free to attend and aims to build a pan-European network of experts working to strengthen democratic resilience through effective information practices.
