Freedom Online Conference 2021

This year policymakers, civil society, business leaders, and technical experts will convene virtually to mark the Coalition’s 10-year anniversary by continuing to develop joint strategies and combine efforts to address the challenges, opportunities and potential of free, open and accessible Internet.

On behalf of the Government of Finland, Chair of the Freedom Online Coalition for 2021, you are invited to register your attendance for the Freedom Online Conference which will be held virtually from Tuesday, 30 November to Friday, 3 December.

The Conference will focus on ‘Openness, Accessibility and Inclusion – Human Rights Online in the 2020’s’, which will be explored by a diverse group of stakeholders during panel sessions addressing the Freedom Online Coalition’s priority issues – digital inclusion, cybersecurity, disinformation, artificial intelligence, and challenges by authoritarian regimes, and beyond.

About the coalition

 

The Freedom Online Coalition (FOC) is a group of 34 governments working together to support Internet freedom and protect fundamental human rights – free expression, association, assembly, and privacy online – worldwide.

At its 10-year anniversary in 2021, the FOC continues to perform a range of crucial functions: issuing joint statements, sharing policy approaches to complex issues, exchanging views on strategy, engaging with Internet stakeholders and planning participation in relevant forums.
