Communications Lead
A strategic leadership role responsible for the agency’s overall communications direction, narrative development, and external positioning with policymakers, media, industry, and open-source communities. Day-to-day responsibilities include running all owned channels (website, newsletter, blog, social media, press), producing publication-ready copy in both English and German, preparing leadership for public appearances, and leading the communications team.
The role also involves proactive media outreach and identifying communications opportunities of political relevance. University degree in communications or equivalent senior experience required, including experience in political or public-sector environments. Initial two-year contract with the aim of conversion to a permanent role.

Programme Manager: Fellowship & Standards
Hands-on programme management of two cohort-based programmes targeting open-source maintainers: the Sovereign Tech Fellowship (supporting key maintainers and technical writers on critical open-source projects) and the Sovereign Tech Standards network (addressing under-representation of open-source maintainers in standards bodies such as W3C, IETF, and ISO).
Responsibilities include cohort design, mentoring coordination, administration, stakeholder communications, contracting, and representing the agency at conferences. Technical familiarity with free and open-source software is essential. Business fluency in German and English required. Must be based in Berlin at least two days per week. Initial two-year contract with aim of conversion to permanent.
