The Law Science Technology & Society Research Group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (LSTS/VUB), is a major stakeholder in the European data protection scene. It is the main organiser of the Computers, Privacy and Data Protection (CPDP, www.cpdpconferences.org) conference, and it co-organises a series of activities for the 2010 Privacy Day: a civil society award, a privacy party, a Pecha Kucha and a political debate in the European Parliament.

The Flemish-Dutch House deBuren is an organisation for culture and debate, located in the center of Brussels. deBuren invites artists, journalists, scientists, politicians and writers to discuss on themes like media, art, literature, civil society, politics and Europe. deBuren sponsors the ECSDPA by covering travel expenses and a one week lodging in Brussels for the award winner.
