Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute 2025

Each year, the Oxford Media Policy Summer Institute gathers around 50 participants from across the world to engage in in-depth dialogue on global media policy, freedom of expression, and digital governance. The 2025 edition focuses on media policy in a time of global crises and geo-political (re)ordering, offering more than 60 contact hours of academic content including lectures, discussions, and workshops led by top international scholars and practitioners.

Participants will examine regulatory responses to emerging technologies, platform governance, misinformation, and the role of media in conflict and peacebuilding. The programme also emphasises peer learning and sustained community building, offering ongoing engagement opportunities beyond the summer school. Held at the historic Jesus College in the heart of Oxford, the Institute offers not only a rigorous academic setting but also a rich cultural and networking experience within a diverse, international cohort.
